Local Business Spotlight: Lumen Company Window Cleaning, Upper Arlington

Not every local spotlight has to be a restaurant — sometimes the business worth knowing about is the one that makes your home look its absolute best. This one's for anyone in Upper Arlington or surrounding Columbus neighborhoods who's tired of streaky, spider-webbed windows.

Why I'm Featuring Lumen Company

Lumen Company is a locally owned window cleaning business run by husband-and-wife team Chris and Heather Adams, serving Upper Arlington and the surrounding Columbus area — not a franchise, which they're quick to point out. Their whole approach is built around a simple idea: quality and courtesy shouldn't be optional, and every visit should feel like white-glove service, not just a quick wipe-down.

They handle both residential and commercial work, plus a service category that's easy to overlook until you need it: post-construction window cleaning, which clears out the dust, paint splatter, and construction debris left behind after a renovation or new build.

What They Actually Do

• Residential window cleaning — interior and exterior, streak-free, including sills and frames
• Screen cleaning and screen repair — an easy add-on most homeowners forget exists as a service
• Gutter polishing — a nice finishing touch for curb appeal that most window cleaners don't offer
• Commercial window cleaning — office buildings, retail storefronts, and multi-story properties
• Post-construction cleanup — for anyone finishing a renovation or new build

Every Lumen Company cleaner is insured and background-checked, and the team uses eco-friendly products — worth knowing if you've got kids, pets, or just prefer not to have harsh chemicals near your window sills.

Why This Matters If You're Buying or Selling in Upper Arlington

Here's the real estate angle, because there genuinely is one: window cleaning is one of the most underrated, lowest-cost ways to improve how a home shows — both in listing photos and in person. Streaky or grimy windows are the kind of small thing that quietly drags down a buyer's first impression, even when everything else about the home is in great shape. If you're prepping a home to list, a professional cleaning ahead of photos is a small investment that shows up in every single picture buyers see online.

And if you've just closed on a home in Upper Arlington, it's one of the easiest "make it feel like yours" moves before you've even finished unpacking.

The Bottom Line

Upper Arlington isn't just good schools and tree-lined streets — it's also home to small, locally owned businesses like Chris and Heather's that quietly raise the bar on what "well-maintained" looks like in this community. If you're getting ready to list, or you just want your windows to actually look clean for once, they're worth a call.
